Habitat for Humanity of Hillsborough County Florida, Inc. announces the completion of Providence Pointe, a three-year, multimillion dollar neighborhood funded and built by community-minded businesses, professional associations, local churches and thousands of individual volunteers.
In 2011, with a total estimated cost of $2.25 MM, Habitat Hillsborough began developing Providence Pointe, a 15-home neighborhood, nestled on three acres off MLK and 301. The land and infrastructure costs were supported with a Hillsborough County partnership grant. This Saturday, June 21, 2014, the last two homes will be dedicated to new homeowners and the project will be completed.
The economic and social impact is far-reaching, and the results of this one Habitat Hillsborough initiative are astounding:
- Built 15 new homes for local working-class families
- Activated over 18,750 volunteer hours on-site
- Engaged over 50 local companies and church groups
- Injected over $1.1MM in direct spending into the local economy
